Job Description

We are seeking an Electromechanic Technician to join our team at Veolia. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance, repair, and optimization of electromechanical systems and equipment in our industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of electromechanical systems and equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with equipment and systems, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Install, configure, and test new equipment and systems, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct tests and measurements using control and analysis instruments, and optimize equipment performance and lifespan.
  • Maximize equipment availability and optimize production performance, while ensuring a high level of quality and safety.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance, replace parts, and make repairs as needed to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of maintenance plans and procedures, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret technical diagrams and schematics, and ensure the optimal functioning of equipment and systems.
  • Study and assimilate technical manuals and instructions to establish and improve procedures for equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Participate in the review, improvement, or writing of procedures, plans, and work instructions related to maintenance responsibilities.
  • Use lifting and handling equipment to move machines and parts on site.
  • Demonstrate a high level of versatility and interest in both electromechanical aspects and overall plant processes, and be able to combine technical expertise with a good understanding of production processes.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logbooks, as well as incident reports as needed.
  • Supervise, guide, and control the work of external contractors and subcontractors in areas related to maintenance responsibilities.
  • Record interventions by external contractors and subcontractors in the Maximo maintenance management system.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Participate actively in quality, health and safety, and environmental initiatives, audits, and promotions.
  • Apply site and corporate rules, instructions, and procedures related to quality, health and safety, and environment.
  • Perform other related and relevant tasks to ensure the proper functioning of mechanical equipment.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Diploma of Professional Studies (DEP) in Electromechanical Systems Automation or other relevant professional training in electromechanics, industrial electricity, or related field.
  • Hold a Compagnon Construction or Hors Construction certificate as an electrician or electromechanic issued by Emploi-Québec (mandatory) or the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in industrial equipment maintenance, preferably in biomethanization, petrochemistry, or water and wastewater treatment (asset).
  • Good physical condition to perform activities and tasks.
  • Hold the attestation (card) issued by the Association paritaire pour la santé et la sécurité du travail du secteur de la construction (ASP Construction) (asset).
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a work permit issued by the relevant federal authority to occupy a job in Quebec.
  • Experience in welding, assembly, and disassembly, handling heavy equipment.
  • Interest and aptitude for problem-solving/troubleshooting.
  • Tolerance for visual elements and odors.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings.
  • Capacity for data analysis and technical data exploitation.
  • Manifest interest in teamwork and high respect for norms.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate and take responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate high proactivity.
  • Interest in working for a company committed to sustainable development in its daily operations.
  • Strong ability to analyze technical problem causes and find solutions.

Work Environment:

This is a permanent full-time position, with a 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday. Occasional evening work may be required based on operational needs. The selected candidate must be flexible and available during peak production periods and able to work under occasional pressure.
