Job Title: Hardware Engineering Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Engineering Lead to join our team at Spire Global. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the overall development of our hardware designs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead the design of our hardware systems, including electrical and mechanical components.
  • Own the test plan development and drive prototyping and testing of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
  • Provide production support to the manufacturing team and assist other team members in achieving their goals.
Requirements:
  • Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics theory, including component knowledge and analogue and digital circuitry expertise.
  • Experience with PCB design, including schematic capture and PCB layout using enterprise software.
  • Knowledge of high-speed digital layout design practices and signal integrity.
  • Experience with digital communication interfaces and lab equipment.
  • Strong debugging experience and fault identification.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and environmental testing.
  • Knowledge of RF theory and circuitry.
  • Basic software skills, familiarity with Linux, Python, scripting, and testing automation.

Spire operates a hybrid work model, and this position will require you to work a minimum of three days per week in office. Access to US export controlled software and/or technology may be required.
