Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Deckhand to assist our Captain in handling cables, performing maintenance operations, and ensuring the safe transfer of people and equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in marine operations and a passion for delivering exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in tug maneuvers and ensure the safe berthing and departure of vessels.
- Assist in the maintenance of tug accommodations and bridges.
- Position the gangway and ensure the safe transfer of people and equipment.
- Connect ground power and perform other maintenance tasks as required.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in various tasks and support the Health, Safety, and Environment Management System.
Requirements
- Certificates of proficiency in Domestic Vessel Safety (DVS) and Lifeboat and rescue boat operating skills.
- A valid medical certificate issued by Transport Canada.
- A Restricted Radio Operator Certificate (RRO-M) and Basic Marine First Aid Certificate (asset).
- Experience as a deckhand and a valid and unrestricted driver's license.
