We are seeking a skilled Deckhand to join our team at Océan. As a key member of our operations in Port-Cartier, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of cables and tug maintenance.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in tug maneuvers and ensure the berthing and departure of vessels using cables.
- Maintain accommodations and bridges, ensuring a safe and comfortable working environment.
- Position the gangway and facilitate the safe transfer of personnel.
- Connect ground power and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Assist the Chief Engineer with various tasks and support the Health, Safety, and Environment Management System.
Requirements:
- Certificates of proficiency in Basic Safety, Lifeboat and rescue boat operating skills, and other relevant certifications.
- Valid medical certificate issued by Transport Canada.
- Restricted Radio Operator Certificate (RRO-M) and Bridge Watchman Certificate of Competency (asset).
- Basic Marine First Aid Certificate and valid driver's license (class 5).
- Autonomy and ability to work independently.
