Job Summary:

CB Canada is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious On-Demand Transit Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transportation Operations: Safely transport passengers on designated routes, adhering to schedules and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Vehicle Management: Monitor and manage the transit operator tracking software to optimize routes and reduce wait times.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective radio communication with dispatch and other drivers, using proper protocol and etiquette.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre- and post-trip checks to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition, reporting any issues or concerns to the maintenance team.
  • Customer Service: Provide friendly and courteous assistance to passengers, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Accurately complete and submit required paperwork, including incident reports and vehicle maintenance records.

Requirements:

  • Driver's License: Valid Class 4 driver's license (Class 2 training provided)
  • Driver's Abstract: Clean driver's abstract
  • Criminal Record: Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check
  • Knowledge of City Roadways: Strong knowledge of city roadways and ability to navigate using a driver tablet
  • Physical Ability: Physical ability to push/pull wheelchairs up and down a ramp
  • Organizational Skills: Organized, punctual, and reliable with excellent time management skills
  • Communication Skills: Calm, upbeat, and helpful manner with excellent communication skills
  • Driving Skills: Excellent driving skills and habits, with a strong focus on safety
