Cineplex is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary operations, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising assigned areas of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality menu execution and service levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day culinary operations, ensuring healthy and safe work practices.
- Plan and direct food preparation, including menu planning and inventory management.
- Supervise and train culinary staff, ensuring they meet company standards.
- Ensure accurate inventory counts and manage stock levels.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement new menu items and promotions.
- Monitor and control food costs, ensuring profitability and efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma in Culinary Arts or Hospitality.
- 2-5 years' experience in a senior culinary role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Valid Food Handler's certificate and Smart Serve certification.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
