We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Masters or PhD student to join our research team at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. Our team focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate neural stem cell reprogramming and differentiation. This knowledge has the potential to promote neural repair and improve the treatment of brain diseases such as stroke, Alzheimer's disease, and autism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct molecular, cellular, biochemical, and behavioral experiments using transgenic mouse models, in vivo neurodegenerative disease models, human iPSC-derived NPC cultures, and single cell RNA-seq approaches.
- Develop and optimize laboratory techniques, including cloning, mutagenesis, PCR, cell line or primary cell culture, immunohistochemistry, and immunocytochemistry.
- Collaborate with our team to design and implement research projects, analyze data, and present findings.
Requirements:
- Experience in molecular biology, cell biology, or in vivo animal model study.
- Excellent academic record and research skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Laboratory experience in tissue culture and small animal experiments.
