About the Role

Soudure Baie-Jolie Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in a dynamic industrial setting. As a Welder, you will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, reading and interpreting blueprints, and operating various metal shaping and bending machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret Welding Process Specifications: Read and understand welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes to ensure accurate and safe execution of welding tasks.
  • Operate Metal Shaping and Bending Machines: Use brakes, shears, and other metal shaping and bending machines to fabricate and repair metal components.
  • Fit, Braze, and Torch-Straighten Metal: Use various welding techniques to fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal components.
  • Operate Hoisting and Lifting Equipment: Safely operate hoisting and lifting equipment to move heavy metal components.
  • Operate Brazing or Soldering Machines: Use previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Possess a trades certificate or diploma in welding or equivalent experience.
  • Work Site Environment: Work in a dusty, hot, and noisy industrial environment.
  • Work Setting: Work in an industrial setting with a focus on fabrication and repair.
  • Physical Capabilities: Possess manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Weight Handling: Lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs) and handle heavy loads.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Custom Fabrication Experience: Possess experience in custom fabrication, machinery or equipment repair, or factory assembly.
  • Area of Specialization: Possess expertise in welding techniques, such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) or flux core arc welding (FCAW).
