Qualifications- Education: Completion of a trades certificate or diploma in welding or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year and up to 2 years of relevant experience in welding.
The successful candidate will work in conditions that may be dusty, hot, and noisy, requiring adaptability and resilience.
Job Responsibilities- Interpret and apply welding process specifications accurately.
- Read and understand welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment effectively.
- Utilize brakes, shears, and other metal shaping machinery.
- Fit, braze, and torch-straighten various metals.
- Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment.
- Handle hoisting and lifting equipment as necessary.
- Manage brazing or soldering machines to bond metals or repair surfaces.
- Work with a variety of materials including aluminum alloys, stainless steel, and heavy metals.
- Employ welding techniques such as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW).
- Experience with arc welding machines, gas welding machines, and soldering machines is essential.
- Custom fabrication and machinery repair.
- Factory assembly and working with cast iron and other metals.
- Ability to handle heavy loads (up to 45 kg or 100 lbs).
- Must be physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods.
- Demonstrated manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Steel-toed safety boots and a welding helmet are required.
