Position Overview: Health and Safety Field Consultant
The Health and Safety Field Consultant role is primarily focused on providing expert guidance and support to clients in the health and safety sector. This position involves delivering tailored advice, field assistance, and comprehensive solutions to clients within the designated regions. The consultant will operate during standard business hours, with a requirement for flexibility to accommodate varying client needs. Successful candidates may have opportunities for career advancement within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Engage proactively with clients to ensure follow-up on advice, solutions, and support provided.
- Conduct on-site visits to assess client needs and provide relevant recommendations.
- Deliver accurate and practical advice and solutions to clients in a professional manner.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory authorities and other stakeholders on behalf of clients, under management supervision.
- Prepare internal documentation and reports following client interactions.
- Review and analyze client policies and related documents to offer informed advice and support.
- Guide clients in utilizing the health and safety management system effectively.
- Meet established internal performance metrics.
Qualifications:
A degree, diploma, or certification from a recognized educational institution or health and safety training program is required. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the field.
Skills and Attributes:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to work autonomously while also being a collaborative team member.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience interacting with regulatory enforcement agencies.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Valid Class G Driver's license.
