Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Manager of Finance Business Partnering to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to our strategic business partnering efforts, reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President of Business Partnering for Personal and Commercial Insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

Driving Business Performance:

  • Ensure that all business decisions are backed by comprehensive financial analysis, utilizing essential data resources and analytical tools.
  • Lead the Benefits planning process to ensure alignment with corporate targets and performance goals.
  • Manage expenses proactively, providing insights to senior management on potential financial outcomes.
  • Engage with business leaders during Operational Reviews and Benefits Planning, leveraging best practices.
  • Oversee the identification and reporting of benefits from the Change portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain processes and toolkits to support effective benefits realization.
  • Incorporate project benefits into the Financial Plan.
  • Deliver timely management information to support decision-making.
  • Provide financial support for initiatives that enhance business performance.

Cost Management:

  • Implement a framework to promote disciplined expense management across the business.
  • Ensure accurate and reliable cost information is utilized in decision-making.
  • Understand the long-term cost structure and actively participate in cost management initiatives.
  • Challenge and account for Group Recharges effectively.

Relationship Management:

  • Align FP&A with adjacent functions such as Capital, Actuarial, Pricing, and Claims.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A team and external stakeholders to anticipate financial challenges.
  • Provide strategic insights to senior management and foster cross-functional collaboration.
  • Enhance relationships with the FP&A team and other stakeholders to ensure exceptional client experiences.

Strategic Management:

  • Ensure financial assumptions in strategic planning are accurate and consistent.
  • Contribute to the development of expense planning models that reflect key value drivers.
  • Assist the business in measuring performance against strategic objectives.
  • Participate in competitive analysis for the business.
  • Adopt a digital-first and customer-centric approach.

Performance Measurement and Management Control:

  • Integrate key financial and operational performance drivers into management reporting.
  • Support the development of efficiency metrics and KPIs for effective performance management.
  • Analyze predictive information to drive actionable insights.
  • Facilitate communication regarding performance relative to business goals.
  • Establish forward-looking planning and budgeting processes.

Governance and Stewardship:

  • Coordinate financial controls to mitigate risks across the business.
  • Align finance processes with business priorities and adapt as necessary.
  • Engage early in product decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification financial management experience, preferably in a P&C organization.
  • CPA or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Proven leadership and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives effectively.
  • Experience in contract negotiation, business modeling, and integration.
  • Strong understanding of financial and performance management processes.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and decision-making skills.
  • A degree in Business (Finance, Economics, Accounting & Finance) or equivalent.
