Position Summary
We are expanding our retail team and seeking a new Retail Operations Leader to enhance our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all facets of retail operations, ensuring customer satisfaction, sales performance, budgeting, and the overall financial health of the store, while fostering team member development and engagement.
  • Implement our business strategy and guide team members to achieve operational objectives.
  • Recruit, schedule, and train team members to cultivate a positive and productive workplace culture, while effectively supervising and communicating to ensure engagement, safety, and exceptional customer service.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and the local community, actively promoting the organization through participation in community events.
  • Strategically merchandise the store in accordance with Rowe Farms' standards.
  • Manage inventory levels and make critical decisions regarding stock control and shrink management.
  • Stay informed about market trends in the retail sector and monitor local competitors.
  • Collaborate closely with Store Managers and leaders from our partner businesses.
  • Ensure compliance with Rowe Farms' health and food safety standards to provide high-quality, safe food for customers and a secure working environment for employees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Qualifications:
  • A genuine interest in regenerative farming practices and a passion for food.
  • Proficient knowledge of retail or food merchandising, operations, and management practices.
  • Previous experience in management and team leadership within the food retail sector.
  • Strong understanding of the meat industry is advantageous.
  • Experience in recruiting, selecting, assessing, coaching, and developing team members in a retail context.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding customer service skills with a knack for fostering customer loyalty.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Able to work efficiently and professionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with budgeting, cost control, sales driving, and business financials.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks that may involve prolonged standing, sitting, movement, and lifting heavy merchandise.
  • Experience in gathering, interpreting, and presenting data.
  • Thorough understanding of health and food safety regulations, with a preference for a Ministry of Labour Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness Certificate.
  • Valid Food Handler's and First Aid Certifications are considered assets.
  • Flexible availability is essential.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

The wholesale division of Rowe Farms sells various fresh meat and deli products to like-minded retail companies.

Olliffe Butcher Shop
A real butcher shop since 1975, Olliffe is committed to supplying our customers and some of the city's top chefs with the very best meat. We have always worked directly with farmers and producers. Making the connection at the grass-roots level enables us to monitor the growing cycle of the animals giving the in-store butchers confidence when selling cuts "from nose-to-tail."
