Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide compassionate and individualized care to individuals with complex mental health, behavioral, and medical needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic and complex nursing tasks to promote the health and well-being of individuals in our care.
  • Collect specimens for lab work and perform health screenings as needed.
  • Instruct psychiatric nursing assistants and other staff on how to provide high-quality care and support.
  • Perform technical nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations.
  • Assist Registered Nurses with implementation of protocols, procedures, and programs to improve overall health and safety.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
