The Burnaby School District is seeking a Casual Student Supervisor to work throughout the district on an on-call basis. This position is responsible for supervising students in school buildings and on school grounds during the lunch break in elementary and secondary schools throughout Burnaby.

We are looking for outstanding employees who have an ability to build trust and respect, and model and reinforce proper behavior and adherence to safety rules.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Grade 12 education
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in working with children and/or adolescents
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Conflict resolution or non-violent crisis intervention training (an asset)
  • Knowledge of basic first aid (an asset)

This position requires that you are physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and can stand/walk around for a 70-minute shift.

The ability to build successful relationships, influence behavior, and avert or resolve conflict thanks to your experience either raising or working with children are key traits required for this position.

This position pays $29.26 per hour.

Successful completion of a criminal record search is a legislated requirement and will be completed upon hire.
