Position Overview:

The AVP of Treasury will be responsible for the strategic oversight of funding, lending, collateral management, cost of funds, and capital allocation. This role will lead innovation and improve operational efficiencies across various business lines, managing a significant funding portfolio exceeding $10 billion in both Canadian and US Dollar deposits, commercial paper, and medium-term notes. Collaboration with the Treasury Director is essential to ensure effective liquidity and funding management on a daily basis, alongside fostering strong relationships with the dealer community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize financial returns through the management of funding, lending, and collateral portfolios while identifying efficiencies and innovating existing processes.
  • Develop and implement Central 1's funding strategy in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present reports, presentations, and analyses detailing funding metrics, strategies, opportunities, and risks for various committees.
  • Manage relationships with capital market participants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee the Director of Treasury, Cash Manager, and Liability Manager.
  • Review and respond to risk management reports and funding policies.
  • Ensure reliable collateral and custodial services are provided to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration.
  • Preferred Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
  • Over 10 years of experience in financial markets or treasury management within financial institutions.
  • Strong understanding of money markets, repo trading, funding structures, debt issuance, and collateral management.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices related to cost of funds and capital allocation models.
  • Proficient in quantitative techniques, analytical skills, and cash management and trading experience.
  • Ability to manage risks and returns effectively in funding and cash management.
  • Management experience with a focus on leading financial market teams.
  • Operational knowledge of capital markets.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced skills in fixed income, financial modeling, and data management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of capital markets etiquette and relationship-building with financial professionals.
  • Proven track record in motivating and leading successful teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Attention to detail is critical, impacting Central 1's performance.

Compensation: $150K-180K

The salary reflects the rate determined for a fully competent candidate. Actual compensation may vary based on market conditions and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education.
