Position Overview:

The AVP of Treasury will be responsible for the strategic oversight of funding, lending, collateral management, cost of funds, and capital allocation. This position requires innovation and operational efficiency across various business lines, managing a significant funding portfolio exceeding $10 billion in Canadian and US Dollar deposits, commercial paper, and medium-term notes. Collaboration with the Treasury Director is essential for effective daily liquidity and funding management, along with maintaining strong relationships within the dealer community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximize financial returns through effective management of funding, lending, and collateral portfolios while identifying process efficiencies and innovations.
  • Develop and implement Central 1's funding strategy in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and analyses on funding metrics, strategies, opportunities, and risks to various committees.
  • Manage relationships with capital market participants, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Supervise the Director of Treasury, Cash Manager, and Liability Manager.
  • Review risk management reports and funding policies.
  • Ensure reliable collateral and custodial services for clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration.
  • Preferred Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
  • Over 10 years of experience in financial markets or treasury management within financial institutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of money markets, repo trading, funding structures, debt issuance, and collateral management.
  • Experience with industry best practices related to cost of funds and capital allocation.
  • Strong analytical skills and significant experience in cash management and trading.
  • Ability to manage risks and returns effectively in funding and cash management.
  • Proven management experience leading teams of financial market professionals.
  • Operational knowledge of capital markets.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced skills in fixed income, financial modeling, and data management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with financial and market professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead successful teams.
  • Cross-departmental collaboration is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently is critical for success.
  • Attention to detail is vital, as accuracy significantly impacts Central 1's performance.

Compensation: $150K-180K

The salary reflects the compensation for a candidate fully competent in the role, with actual salary varying based on market conditions and relevant factors such as experience and qualifications.
