Mohawk College is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Wellness Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Health, Safety, and Wellness team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and wellness programs to foster a healthy and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement wellness programs to promote employee well-being and reduce stress and burnout.
- Conduct internal health and safety audits and employee surveys to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide guidance, education, and training on health, safety, and wellness issues to employees and leaders.
- Manage the ergonomic safety program and develop and update training materials on various areas of wellness.
- Collaborate with team members to implement key deliverables to drive employee well-being.
- Plan and organize health promotion activities to engage employees in healthy behaviors.
- Develop and implement metrics to monitor the performance of programs relative to their goals and the College's strategic initiatives.
- A minimum of 4-year degree in Allied Health with a specialization in mental health.
- Five years of progressive experience in Health and Safety, Wellness, and Psychological Safety.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with diverse teams and internal clients to identify needs and designing and delivering solutions.
- Knowledge of the Psychological Safety in the Workplace Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Standard Z1003-13.
- Certification in Psychological Safety/Workplace Mental Health would be considered an asset.
- Experience working in a unionized environment with Joint H&S Committees and Wellness Committees.
