Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, and while embodying the Mission, Values, and Management Philosophy of Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, the Lead Financial Analyst is accountable for all facets of capital fund accounting and designated operating fund accounting processes, which include:

executing month-end and year-end journal entries and reconciliations; conducting month-end reviews and analyses; performing variance assessments and generating reports; preparing audit documentation; analyzing variances of capital initiatives; compiling capital funding collection submissions; maintaining financial records associated with capital projects and equipment costs; drafting borrowing documents, working papers, and analyses; a minimum of three (3) years of relevant accounting experience.

Currently enrolled in an accredited accounting program (CA, CGA, or CMA) with at least three (3) years completed, or;
Successful completion of a recognized degree/diploma program in a related field (e.g., accounting, business administration, commerce).
A commitment to ongoing progress towards obtaining an accounting designation is preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience, as recognized by the organization, may be considered in lieu of the aforementioned requirements.

Proficiency in computer systems and common software applications, including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and email platforms.

Ability to interact with staff and other personnel with professionalism and respect.
