The Lead Financial Analyst will be tasked with overseeing account reconciliations, formulating financial strategies in collaboration with the senior leadership team, analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing recommendations for enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking;
- Analyze financial data and develop financial models to support decision-making;
- Report on financial performance and prepare for regular reviews with leadership;
- Evaluate historical results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and suggest improvements;
- Assist in shaping the university's financial future direction and support tactical initiatives;
- Collaborate closely with the finance team to ensure precise and timely financial reporting;
- Engage with senior finance leadership on long-term financial planning;
- Establish performance measures that align with the university's strategic objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous;
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation;
- A minimum of five years' experience in financial analysis and forecasting;
- Experience in a not-for-profit or governmental context is highly valued;
- Proven experience collaborating with executive teams and providing strategic recommendations;
- Comprehensive understanding of financial regulations and risk management practices;
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills;
- Familiarity with Indigenous culture and university programs is a definite plus;
- Willingness to travel, with a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
