About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Supervisor to join our team at A&W. As a Shift Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and have a memorable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by Example: Demonstrate excellent guest service skills and lead your team to deliver exceptional service to every guest, every time.
  • Mentor and Develop Team Members: Provide guidance and support to team members to help them develop their skills and knowledge, including preparing food to standard recipes and customized for guests.
  • Implement New Initiatives: Work with the team to implement new innovations and ideas from A&W, and ensure that they are executed to the highest standard.
  • Manage Operations: Ensure that the restaurant is running smoothly and efficiently, and that all operations are in line with A&W's standards.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, guests, and management to ensure that everyone is informed and aligned.
Requirements
  • Excellent Guest Service Skills: Proven ability to deliver exceptional guest service and lead a team to do the same.
  • Leadership Experience: Experience in leading a team and directing the work of others.
  • Ability to Learn Quickly: Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations and challenges.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Working Conditions
  • Working in a Fast-Paced Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of guests and transactions.
  • Working with Hot Products and Equipment: Work with hot products and equipment, including cooking and preparing food.
  • Working in a Noisy Environment: Work in a noisy environment with background music and guest chatter.
  • Use of Portable or Step Ladder: May be required to use a portable or step ladder to access high shelves or equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing for Extended Periods: Stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours, to provide exceptional guest service and manage the restaurant.
  • Lifting Heavy Boxes: Occasionally lift heavy boxes when dealing with product inventory, up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive Tasks: Engage in repetitive tasks, such as preparing and assembling orders and products, and regular cleaning of the restaurant facility.
  • Maintaining Good Personal Hygiene: Maintain good personal hygiene and wear a clean and tidy uniform at all times.
