Role Overview

As part of the Centralized Procurement team, you will play a crucial role in addressing housing affordability challenges. Your expertise in analysis and negotiation, combined with your ability to build relationships, will be vital in executing strategic sourcing and planning initiatives for complex procurement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various business units to develop sourcing strategies and provide specialized procurement expertise.
  • Oversee the open tender process and negotiate contracts to secure optimal value for CMHC.
  • Manage supplier relationships and procurement content, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Contribute to the knowledge development of procurement practices within the team.
  • Work with contract management stakeholders to ensure effective processing and resource allocation.
  • Provide insights for setting procurement objectives.
  • Support the creation and management of corporate contracting policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree in business administration, finance, or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in public procurement, including a minimum of three years in managing complex bid processes.
  • Strong understanding of public procurement principles, privacy legislation, and trade agreements.
  • A customer-focused approach to procurement and contract management, with a proven ability to influence decisions.
  • Demonstrated success in contract negotiation.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French.
  • Strong project management abilities and capacity to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in conducting thorough analyses and applying critical thinking to solve complex problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation.
