About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Kitchen Helper at Owl Pub Liquor Store. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Carry and replace linens
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
    • Empty trash and recycling bins
  • Food Preparation
    • Load and unload dishes, glassware, and flatware from dishwashers
    • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruits
    • Prepare ingredients for cooking
  • Inventory Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, and cupboards
    • Restock kitchen inventory as needed
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees
    • Recruit and support newcomers and refugees in our community
    • Provide on-the-job training and guidance
  • Support for Youths
    • Offer on-the-job training and mentorship to youth
    • Provide a welcoming and inclusive work environment
Requirements
  • No prior experience is required, as we provide on-the-job training
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects
