Job Summary

Vango Toronto Fencing Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fencing Instructor to lead our recreational programs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for teaching fencing techniques, leading group classes, and developing engaging programs for our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement fencing programs for individuals and groups, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
  • Instruction and Coaching: Provide expert instruction and coaching to members of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced fencers.
  • Program Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of our recreational programs, including scheduling, equipment maintenance, and staff supervision.
  • Communication: Develop and maintain effective relationships with members, staff, and other stakeholders, ensuring excellent customer service and a positive experience for all.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Ensure a safe and healthy environment for all participants, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2-3 years in a related field, preferably in fencing instruction or coaching
  • Work Environment: Private club or community center
  • Supervision: 5-10 individuals
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check required
  • Personal Attributes: Accurate, client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, interpersonal awareness, judgement, organized, reliability, team player
