About the Role:

We are in search of a distinctive individual eager to contribute to a growing organization and develop alongside us. As a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in executing King's Pastry's policies and procedures to ensure product excellence and food safety. We seek someone who can provide a fresh perspective, work collaboratively, and exhibit strong leadership qualities.

This position will require engagement on the manufacturing floor as well as in an office environment, collaborating with the quality and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitating monthly HACCP team meetings and assisting in data compilation for Quarterly Management Meetings.
  • Creating and distributing the Quality Newsletter to keep management updated on current QA affairs.
  • Leading Continuous Improvement Initiatives alongside the Quality Assurance Director and operations team, showcasing and developing essential leadership skills.
  • Ensuring that CCP records and other Quality Documentation are accurately maintained and up to date.
  • Overseeing annual employee training and developing new training materials as necessary.
  • Conducting investigations into customer complaints and initiating Internal Non-Conformances, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Performing data analysis related to GMP, EMP, Pre-op, and Post Sanitation Monitoring.
  • Assisting in the preparation and execution of food safety audits, including annual third-party GFSI audits, internal audits, customer second-party audits, and supplier audits.
  • Managing the Quality team in the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Providing backup support for Quality Assurance Technicians when needed to ensure seamless operations.
  • Planning and organizing events to promote Food Safety during World Food Safety Week and other relevant occasions.

Qualifications:

  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Familiarity with SQF or relevant certification is advantageous.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Adaptable and quick to learn in a dynamic environment.
  • Capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.

Job Type:

  • Full-time, salaried position
  • Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
  • Occasional weekend work may be required.

Work Location:

  • On-site in Mississauga

Compensation: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 annually
