This project is supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Alliance program and involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including governmental bodies.

Research Focus

The project, known as COHERENT-C, is dedicated to improving the Canadian Land Surface Scheme (CLASSIC), which is integral to the Earth System modeling community. This endeavor represents a pioneering effort to develop a process-based understanding of Canada's terrestrial carbon dynamics, which will inform future assessments of carbon sinks and sources across managed and unmanaged landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct original research and prepare manuscripts related to carbon cycle processes.
  2. Assist in organizing and facilitating workshops aimed at disseminating findings.
  3. Collaborate with graduate students and provide expertise in model development and interpretation.
