In alignment with the established vision and values of the organization, this role encompasses a range of responsibilities within the warehouse and logistics functions of Interior Health, including the management of shipping and receiving, processing requisitions/orders, unpacking, verifying, storing, and distributing supplies and goods.

Key Responsibilities

Accepts, unpacks, and verifies incoming materials from vendors; ensures that supplies and goods are received according to specifications; completes related documentation such as signing delivery receipts. Organizes and places items in designated areas; rotates stock and maintains cleanliness of inventory shelves and areas. Reviews invoices against orders and supplies/goods, addressing discrepancies with vendors and/or departments as necessary. Compiles, issues, and dispatches supplies and goods based on requisition requests; loads orders onto carts for delivery; and completes required documentation in accordance with established protocols. Identifies damaged or spoiled goods and notifies the appropriate personnel in accordance with established procedures; coordinates the delivery and return of loaned items; returns damaged or spoiled goods to the supplier as required. Completes necessary documentation. Conducts physical inventory counts and maintains inventory records. Replenishes stock based on predetermined minimum and maximum levels and alerts when established reorder points are reached according to established procedures; adjusts stock items in accordance with established guidelines; recommends changes to inventory items and/or levels. Maintains records and provides information regarding warehouse activities; ensures accurate coding on stock items; upholds security measures. Collects and delivers various supplies and/or materials to and from multiple locations in accordance with established policies, procedures, and schedules as required. Transports a variety of supplies and/or materials to and from delivery locations by operating various vehicles, including trucks with a gross vehicle weight of up to 10,000 lbs or 4536 Kg as required. Performs routine inspection and maintenance duties on vehicles and equipment, such as securing loads, cleaning, checking belts, lights, and tires, and maintaining fluid levels; recommends repairs for vehicles and equipment as necessary. Maintains related documentation such as logbooks as required. Keeps assigned warehouse areas and supplies in a clean and orderly condition. Engages in continuous quality improvement initiatives by providing input and feedback to the Manager (or designate) on work procedures and opportunities for process enhancement. Assists in orienting new staff by demonstrating work procedures and the use of equipment. Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Completion of Grade 12 plus one year of recent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills & Knowledge

Valid Class 5 vehicle license if applicable. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with others. Physical capability to perform the duties of the position. Proficiency in operating related equipment. Strong organizational skills. Commitment to fostering reconciliation in Canada as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act. As a valuable asset, we seek candidates with knowledge of the social, economic, political, and historical realities affecting Indigenous communities, as well as familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism initiatives (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
