Job Title: Youth Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Worker to join our team at the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre. As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and development of Indigenous youth in our community.

Job Summary:

The Youth Worker will work closely with our team to provide support services to Indigenous youth, including individual and group counseling, life skills training, and advocacy. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Indigenous culture and community, as well as experience working with youth in a support role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to Indigenous youth
  • Develop and implement life skills training programs for Indigenous youth
  • Advocate for Indigenous youth and their families
  • Work collaboratively with community agencies and organizations to provide support services to Indigenous youth
  • Participate in community events and activities to promote the well-being and development of Indigenous youth
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. social work, counseling, youth work)
  • Experience working with Indigenous youth in a support role
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous culture and community
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
