Job Summary:

Highland Farms is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Manager to lead our meat team. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and driving sales growth in the meat department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Motivate and engage employees to maximize performance and achieve sales goals.

• Lead, coach, and develop employees to reach their full potential and provide excellent customer service.

• Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to enhance the appeal of products and maximize sales.

• Ensure quality of products by conducting quality control measures, performing inspections, and adhering to company standards.

• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the meat department, and ensure that all employees follow health, safety, and cleanliness standards.

• Order products as per process, requirements, and direction from the buyer, and ensure that all products are stored and displayed in a manner that meets company standards.

• Prepare and assemble meat and seafood items according to standardized written recipes and processes, and ensure that all products are handled and stored safely.

• Participate in food product recall processes and ensure that all employees are aware of and follow company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working and managing a meat department.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers, and management.

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and leadership skills, with the ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.

• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness, and knowledge of different cuts of meats and cooking procedures.

• Previous knowledge of using various equipment, such as grinders, scales, wrapping machines, saws, and knives, and proper knife handling skills.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, and skilled at working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining priorities and a high level of performance.

Working Conditions:

• Walking and standing for extended periods of time.

• Able to bend, squat, and lift occasionally, and able to lift up to approximately 50 lbs.

• Will be exposed to limited cold temperatures from the freezer/cooler area.
