About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Technologist to join our team at BC Hydro. As an Electrical Engineering Technologist, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Training: Develop and maintain knowledge of electrical engineering principles, technologies, and industry standards.
  • Electrical Systems: Design, install, and maintain electrical systems, including power transmission and distribution lines, substations, and switchgear.
  • Renewable Energy: Support the integration of renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power, into our electrical grid.
  • Energy Efficiency: Identify and implement opportunities to improve energy efficiency in our operations and customer-facing programs.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and customer service, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of a recognized electrical engineering technology program or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, technologies, and industry standards; excellent communication and collaboration skills.
