About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team at the Canadian Partnership for Women and Children. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for our financial, HR, IT, and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Leadership: Provide overall financial leadership and direction for the organization, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, and compliance with financial regulations.
  2. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement financial management strategies, including budget planning, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  3. Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to the CEO, Board, and other senior leaders, highlighting key financial trends, risks, and opportunities.
  4. Financial Governance: Oversee and support the full range of financial and accounting functions, including financial planning, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  5. Financial Management: Ensure the accurate and efficient management of financial resources, including cash flow management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and tax.
  6. Financial Planning: Develop and implement financial plans, including financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  7. Financial Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the organization's financial stability and security.
  8. Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including tax laws, financial reporting requirements, and other relevant laws and regulations.
  9. Financial Leadership Development: Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, ensuring the development of their skills and knowledge.
  10. Financial IT Management: Oversee the management and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including hardware and software.
Requirements
  1. Professional Qualifications: Professional Accountant in good standing (CPA designation preferred).
  2. Experience: 15+ years of successful professional experience in financial roles, with at least 5+ years in a senior financial leadership role.
  3. Not-for-Profit Experience: Experience in the not-for-profit sector and/or a registered charity preferred.
  4. Financial Knowledge: Knowledge of finance regulation specific to charities preferred.
  5. Global Experience: Experience in global organizations preferred.
  6. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated track record of sound financial management enabling organizational growth and/or successful rebound from a crisis.
  7. HR and IT Experience: Experience with leading HR, IT, and Administration functions preferred.
  8. Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software and other computer software.
  9. Additional Skills: Experience with Salesforce and Great Plains an asset.
