Job Title: Chief Housing Officer

The City of Calgary is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Housing Officer to lead the development and implementation of the City's housing strategy. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for advancing housing outcomes that make Calgary a great place to live.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the City's housing strategy, including the Home is Here Housing Strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance housing outcomes.
  • Provide leadership on conducting cost estimates, budget, and reporting on the financial status of the Home is Here Housing Strategy.
  • Hold accountability for leading an integrated approach to allocate resources, priority of work, and integration cross-corporately.
  • Establish and refine strong relationships with private sector, governments, and advocacy groups to leverage their investments towards housing outcomes.
  • Act as the face and voice for The City of Calgary in telling the story of Calgary's housing actions and progress to outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Business, Planning, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience working in management and leadership roles.
  • Experience in successfully leading and managing high-value complex projects.
  • Experience building trust, rapport, and credibility with relevant parties.
  • Well-developed political and organizational sensitivity.
  • Strong strategic leadership and management capabilities.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary range of $140,000 - $213,000 per annum.
  • A 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3-week cycle.
  • A standard 35-hour work week.
