Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Tax Director to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for participating in the execution of tax mandates requiring technical knowledge. Your duties will include:
Main Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth tax research and provide sound interpretation to support complex tax consulting mandates.
- Draft transactional memoranda to implement tax reorganizations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with new developments in tax matters, applying this knowledge to provide expert advice to clients.
- Support tax team members assigned to tax mandates, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
- Respond to tax queries from departments within the organization, providing timely and accurate information.
- Ensure that deadlines are met, maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency.
- Graduate degree in taxation or a related field.
- Recognized CPA or lawyer designation, with a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
- A minimum of 5 years or more of relevant experience in taxation, ideally with a professional firm.
- Proficiency in software applications, including Word, Excel, and tax research tools such as CCH Online, Taxfind, and Taxnet Pro.
- Knowledge of tax return software, including TaxPrep and DT Max.
- Fluency in French and English, with the ability to communicate complex tax concepts effectively.
- Thorough knowledge of the Income Tax Act and the Quebec Taxation Act, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
