Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Tax Director, the Tax Director plays a crucial role in executing complex tax mandates requiring specialized knowledge. Their responsibilities encompass:
- Conducting thorough tax research and providing sound interpretations of relevant regulations.
- Drafting comprehensive transactional memoranda to implement effective tax reorganizations.
- Staying abreast of emerging trends and developments in the field of taxation.
- Providing support and guidance to tax team members assigned to various mandates.
- Responding promptly to tax-related inquiries from departments within the organization.
- Ensuring that all deadlines are met with accuracy and efficiency.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Regularly reviewing ongoing tax mandates, providing insightful analysis and updates to the Senior Director responsible for each mandate.
- Analyzing time spent on tax files for billing purposes, highlighting any significant discrepancies or areas requiring attention.
- Clearly explaining mandate issues and providing comprehensive interpretations as needed.
Client Relationship Management
- Proactively identifying and addressing the tax-related needs of clients, fostering strong relationships built on trust and expertise.
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations, coupled with excellent analytical and communication skills. They are highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
