Position Overview

Join our team at Koprich Paralegal Services as a dedicated Legal Assistant Specialist. This permanent role offers a dynamic work environment where you will engage in a variety of legal tasks.

  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance to clients on matters related to intellectual property and represent them before the Trade-Marks Registrar.
  • Assist clients with legal proceedings and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Gather and organize evidence in preparation for trials.
  • Manage estate administration and asset distribution.
  • Coordinate various administrative services efficiently.
  • Draft legal documents including contracts, promissory notes, wills, and mortgages.
  • Facilitate probate processes to validate wills.
  • Support clients in completing applications for uncontested divorces and name changes.
  • Conduct interviews with clients, witnesses, and relevant parties.
  • Issue legal documents such as subpoenas and summonses.
  • Perform clerical tasks, including maintaining organized filing systems.
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings related to driving offences.
  • Prepare trial briefs and establish priorities for court staff.
  • Compile legal documents, court reports, and affidavits.
  • Receive and manage affidavits, declarations, and affirmations.
  • Advocate for clients at proceedings before the Trade Marks Opposition Board.
  • Conduct research on legal records and documents.
  • Schedule court trials and arrange pre-trial conferences.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for mediation and dispute resolutions.
  • Represent clients in international matters in collaboration with foreign legal associates.
  • Witness and certify signatures on legal documents.
  • Document court proceedings and judgements accurately.
  • Manage administrative and service fee collections.
  • Draft legal correspondence and explain rights to defendants.
  • Oversee the maintenance of judicial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Participate in hearings for summary conviction offences.
  • Preside over trials for criminal offences as needed.
  • Act as executor or trustee in estate-related matters.
