Job Title: Clinician, Specialized Mental Health

We are seeking a skilled Clinician to join our Mental Health and Substance Use department. As a key member of our team, you will provide primary therapeutic, case management, and mental health and substance use support services to clients in various settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide assessment and treatment services to clients, including initial and ongoing assessments, and develop care plans in collaboration with the inter-professional clinical team.
  • Teach clients and others in one-on-one and group settings, promoting knowledge and skills in mental health and substance use.
  • Integrate best practices and current research evidence to inform professional practice decisions and actions, with a focus on harm reduction and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the public, as well as with medical staff and the interdisciplinary team, using verbal, written, and computer communication means.
  • Apply conflict resolution skills and promote client-focused care that demonstrates care for and with clients and significant others, sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences, client advocacy, and social justice concerns.

Qualifications:
  • Baccalaureate degree in a mental health and substance use related discipline, plus two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities:

  • Teaching and communication skills, including verbal, written, and computer communication means.
  • Knowledge integration skills, including best practices and current research evidence.
  • Human caring and relationship-centered practice skills, including client-focused care and conflict resolution.
  • Culturally safe and trauma-informed care skills, including individualized care planning and collaborative approaches.
  • Management and leadership skills, including time and resource management, and staff morale and engagement.
