We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel or Senior Counsel to join our dynamic team at Intact Financial Corporation. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert legal advice and support on a broad range of insurance regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality legal advice and innovative business solutions on different matters related to our organization's products, services, and activities.
  • Act as Legal Counsel or Senior Counsel on behalf of Intact Financial Corporation and its subsidiaries, primarily in insurance regulatory law, including the development and distribution of insurance products, market conduct requirements, federal and provincial licensing, and marketing law.
  • Ensure the integrity of the legal and regulatory aspects of the distribution of our financial products and services, and ensure that our values are respected.
  • Participate in a variety of national strategic projects in collaboration with the Manager or Vice President of Legal Affairs, when appropriate.
Requirements
  • 3 to 7 years of experience at a large law firm or large in-house department, in commercial, corporate, and/or insurance law, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Superior technical legal skills.
  • Comfort with technology tools, including good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to assess the practical implications of legal risks and think strategically.
  • Ability to build relationships with business units and stakeholders and influence decision making at the operational and corporate level.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage many files and projects at once.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, Bilingualism (French and English, both written and spoken) is required, considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
