We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Assisted Living Worker to join our team at Garden View Village in Kimberley, BC.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to seniors, responding to their needs and preferences. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide personal care and support to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with meal preparation and service, as well as housekeeping and laundry duties.
- Participate in social and recreational programs, including group activities, outings, and special events.
- Respond to requests for resident companionship and provide emotional support.
- Report changes in resident health and functional status to the Community Manager or designate.
- Perform delegated tasks in support of resident personal care, after completion of resident-specific training.
- Participate in program planning and evaluation, as well as Quality Improvement activities.
- Current registration and good standing as a Health Care Assistant with the British Columbia Care Aide Registry.
- Successful completion of Grade 12.
- Certificates in First Aid and Food Safe preferred.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team-player.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 10kgs.
- Proven computer experience.
- Successful clearance of a vulnerable sector-criminal record check.
- Negative TB Skin Test.
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccinations or approved exemption for an accommodation based on a reason related to human rights.
- Competitive hourly rate of $27.92.
