Job Title: Assisted Living Worker

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Assisted Living Worker to join our team at Garden View Village in Kimberley, BC.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to seniors, responding to their needs and preferences. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Participate in the delivery of social and recreational programs, including group activities and outings.
  • Assist with meal preparation and service, as directed.
  • Provide companionship to residents, reducing or preventing social isolation.
  • Report changes in resident health or functional status to the Community Manager or designate.
  • Perform delegated tasks in support of resident personal care, after completion of resident-specific training.
  • Participate in program planning and evaluation, and in Quality Improvement activities.
Requirements:
  • Current registration and good standing as a Health Care Assistant with the British Columbia Care Aide Registry.
  • Successful completion of Grade 12.
  • Certificates in First Aid and Food Safe, preferred.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team-player.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 10kgs.
  • Proven computer experience.
  • Successful clearance of a vulnerable sector-criminal record check.
  • Negative TB Skin Test.
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccinations or approved exemption for an accommodation based on a reason related to human rights.
