We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Burlington, Canada. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering mechanical engineering design solutions that meet our clients' needs.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise the performance of mechanical engineers and review deliverables to ensure high-quality results.
- Facilitate the purchase of equipment by specifying requirements and assisting procurement.
- Contribute to the cost-efficient delivery of mechanical engineering by managing the man hour budget and reviewing capital cost estimates.
- Take on a mechanical lead role on major projects, managing engineers and designers, and organizing mechanical work.
- Assist in the development and review of relevant mechanical contracts.
- Issue drawings and engineering deliverables for construction.
- Motivate engineers and other project team members towards superior performance.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in mechanical engineering, preferably with experience in minerals and metals. You should have a proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects and be able to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
- Previous experience in Minerals & Metals is a must. Oil & Gas would be an asset.
- 25 years mechanical design engineering experience in a relevant industry.
- Ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D software, and MS Office.
- Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering.
- Commitment to mentoring and coaching of personnel.
- Proven ability to manage, motivate, and influence employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Well-developed written and oral skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
