This is a casual role, meaning that hours are not guaranteed and may vary from week to week.

Compensation

The new hourly wage effective April 1, 2024, is set at $28.31.

Key Responsibilities

As a Nursing Unit Clerk, your duties will include:

  • Prioritizing, processing, coordinating, and transcribing physicians' orders;
  • Serving as a communication hub for the unit;
  • Scheduling and coordinating patient/resident appointments;
  • Assembling and maintaining patient/resident records, entering data, and transcribing information into relevant systems such as MARS, Kardex, Careplan, and electronic health records;
  • Performing clerical tasks including keyboarding, data entry, filing, compiling statistics, generating reports, and managing unit supplies;
  • Maintaining timekeeping records for staff and entering data into payroll systems;
  • Monitoring patient/resident call signals and relaying messages to appropriate personnel.

  • Completion of Grade 12;
  • A current Typing Test of 40 wpm or greater from a recognized institution, completed within the last 48 months;
  • A Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate;
  • A resume;
