Position Overview

Ron Anderson & Sons Limited is seeking skilled professionals for the role of Wall Panel Designer. This position is essential for our operations, focusing on the design and development of prefabricated wall systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construction Plans: Analyze and interpret construction blueprints, ensuring familiarity with multifamily and residential wood frame construction.
  • Design Development: Create prefabricated wall systems by extracting vital information from architectural and engineering documents.
  • Production Drawings: Utilize MiTek's Supply software to generate wall layouts and production drawings.
  • Documentation: Assemble comprehensive documentation packages and produce detailed drawing sets for wall systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and verify wall panel design drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and design data.
  • Technical Reporting: Draft technical reports specific to wall systems.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with various departments and the fabrication shop to synchronize designs and schedules.
  • Communication: Liaise with engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure project alignment.
  • Specifications Preparation: Develop specifications, including cost and material estimates.
  • Project Meetings: Participate in weekly meetings to discuss the progress of ongoing projects.
Qualifications
  • Completion of secondary education.
  • A minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in a design technologist role or a related field, complemented by relevant college coursework.
  • Familiarity with computer-assisted drafting is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience with MiTek Software is beneficial but not essential.
  • Prior work experience in wood construction and framing, particularly in mid-rise residential projects, is a plus.
