About the Role
As a Personal Care Provider with RT Medical, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who require assistance due to aging, injury, surgery, or illness. You will work directly at long-term care facilities, providing compassionate and personalized care to residents.
Responsibilities- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding when needed.
- Monitor and record vital signs and health status, reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times.
- Assist with medication reminders under supervision.
- Perform delegated tasks within your scope of practice.
- Possess one of the following qualifications:
- Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities or the Ministry of Education approved program
- RN/RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy student with a minimum successful completion of year one of the program
- Internationally licensed Nurse, Midwife or Physician with clearance to work as a PSW from the Ontario Personal Support Workers Association (OPSWA)
- Valid G2/G driver's license and access to a reliable car.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel, and reach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor.
