The HR Generalist plays a crucial role within the People Services team, enhancing both employee experiences and supporting Program Managers throughout the employment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding and Off-boarding
- Facilitate onboarding processes to ensure a seamless experience for new hires, including documentation and benefits enrollment.
- Oversee the administration of required employee screenings, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Assist with the off-boarding process, ensuring accurate final pay information is processed.
- Respond promptly to staff inquiries regarding data and documentation.
- Generate monthly reports to provide insights into recruitment and turnover metrics.
- Manage HR inquiries and ensure timely updates to employee records for payroll.
- Conduct regular audits of employee data for accuracy and consistency.
- Communicate benefits programs and updates effectively.
- Coordinate all disability and Workers Compensation Board claims.
- Manage staff leave requests and facilitate the return-to-work process.
- Conduct investigations and recommend solutions for employee conflicts.
- Support managers in performance management processes.
- Assist with the annual performance review process.
- Education in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Psychology; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources.
- CPHR certification or equivalent is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR Information Systems.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
- High degree of initiative and confidentiality.
