About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Supervisor to join our team at Barry Callebaut. As a Technical Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising a team of employees in the performance of technical work, ensuring a safe and clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of employees in the accomplishment of technical work, adhering to the organization's vision and teamwork philosophy.
  • Manage and coordinate the execution of preventive/corrective maintenance work, taking into account interdepartmental workflow and constraints.
  • Analyze and improve technical maintenance methods and coordinate improvement projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform necessary procurements for project execution.
  • Provide technical expertise to departments and other sectors.
  • Perform various tasks related to occupational health and safety, sanitation, communication, teamwork, and department management.
  • Ensure major equipment and supplies are maintained in good condition, safe, and operational, or plan for replacement.
  • Train personnel on safe working practices according to current standards and regulations.
  • Perform other tasks as instructed by your immediate supervisor.
  • Support and participate in implementing necessary actions to meet established quality standards.
  • Ensure production meets FSSC 22000, HACCP, and BPF standards.
  • Manage technical store processes.
  • Contribute to maintaining product safety by adopting behaviors meeting defined requirements.

Requirements

  • DEC/BAC in mechanics or electrical engineering and 10 years of experience in a manufacturing plant, with a minimum of 5 years in team supervision, department, or project.
  • Field experience.
  • Rigorous, firm, diplomatic.
  • Leadership skills and perseverance.
  • Good interpersonal skills (communication, accountability, and teamwork).
  • Able to work under pressure with numerous and tight deadlines.
  • Creative and innovative.
  • Functional bilingualism (English-French).
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance principles using a software such as SAP, Maximo, or MP2 would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or Total Quality (Acnor 299) standards.
  • Achievements demonstrating ability to manage change and increase organization productivity.
