Business Credit Risk Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Credit Risk Manager to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Adjudication Centre of Expertise, you will be responsible for exercising sound credit judgement and providing quality underwriting decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze credit submissions, financial disclosures, and pertinent documentation to ensure they meet risk tolerances
- Apply advanced credit judgement, utilizing the five C's of credit, and ensure consistent application of policies and processes
- Adjudicate within established limits and exception authority, presenting quality recommendations on requests above established limits
- Calculate financial ratios, identify appropriate credit conditions, and understand business and economic trends
- Analyze credit reviews and apply corrective action where necessary
- Ensure all partner interactions are professional, respectful, and value-added
- Provide recommendations and alternative solutions, restructuring credit requests as required
- Act with a sense of urgency in response to partner requests to meet customer expectations
- Deliver against established ACE Service Level Agreement targets
- Contribute to the growth and quality of the Small Business Credit portfolio
- Clearly identify risks and exceptions using strong rationale and associated mitigants to support decisions
- Operate within the Bank's risk appetite and culture in day-to-day activities and decisions
- Maintain acceptable application review ratings from internal quality assurance and audit
- Comprehensive knowledge of Scotiabank's Small Business products and services
- Expert understanding of Bank lending policies and procedures, financial analysis, risk assessment techniques, credit structuring, collateral, and security documentation
- Intermediate accounting and financial statement analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills
- Strong team player with harmonious relationships with Unit team members and stakeholders
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, to produce informative, concise, and professional credit replies, presentations, and correspondence
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work effectively and efficiently in a high-volume work environment
