Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Healthcare Manager to lead our Medical Transcription Team at Shared Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and coaching a remote and geographically dispersed team to ensure timely and accurate patient care reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and adjust staffing to ensure compliance with provincially set turnaround times for completion of work.
  • Oversee the automated transcription environment and assign medical dictation from clinical providers based on volumes.
  • Contribute to the development of Health Information Services proposals, impact analysis studies, and submissions for new/expanded facility-specific regional programs.
  • Build and manage interdisciplinary teams, preferably across a range of healthcare settings.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including patients.
Requirements
  • 5 years of progressive management experience, preferably in a unionized healthcare setting.
  • 3 years of experience working in a Health Information Services environment with a focus on health information management systems.
  • 2 years of experience analyzing data quality and integrity.
  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma in health information management, health administration, management, or business administration, or related field.
  • Active membership in good standing of an associated regulatory body and the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated mid-level leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings at multiple sites.
  • Valid Manitoba driver's license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province.
