Job Summary

Mackenzie Health is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our healthcare team in an acute care setting. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing direct clinical care, including assessment and therapy, to patients in need of speech and language services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' communication and swallowing abilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare staff on communication and swallowing disorders
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university
  • Membership in good standing with the College of Audiologist and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in an acute care setting
  • Prior experience in stroke rehabilitation and/or rehabilitation settings is an asset
