About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recreation Therapist to join our team at Shannex Incorporated. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing wellness programs that enhance the overall quality of life for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Recreation team to design and deliver a comprehensive wellness program that meets the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
- Assist residents in achieving their wellness goals through individualized and community-wide programs.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
- Foster partnerships with local businesses and community groups to enhance program development.
- Provide orientation and support to new residents, ensuring a smooth transition to our community.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who possesses a strong passion for working with seniors and has experience in recreation therapy. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Two-year post-secondary diploma in Recreation Therapy or a related field.
- Knowledge of recreation therapy techniques and equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Proof of current, valid CPR and First Aid Certification, as well as a Safe Food Handler's Course.
