Technical Specialist Job Description

Paladin Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist to join our Monitoring Operation team. This full-time position will be based in our Operations Centre in Victoria, BC, and will provide support across all geographic areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the research, selection, and implementation of technology for a redundant alarm monitoring operational infrastructure.
  • Perform testing to identify vulnerabilities in individual systems, processes, and alarm monitoring facilities.
  • Conduct surveys of physical structural and network infrastructure to develop countermeasures for vulnerabilities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the implementation and review of ULC/UL and industry-wide best practices and standards.
  • Document detailed system features, requirements, and data flow diagrams to support the current and future roadmap.
  • Provide front-line IT support for workstations, receivers, and telephone infrastructure in the alarm monitoring operation.
  • Be available for on-call duties before or after regular hours, and/or on days not regularly scheduled to work.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • 3 years of experience troubleshooting various IT systems (Microsoft).
  • Desire for continuous learning.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and documentation practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Accountable, detail-oriented, and adaptable.
  • Effective multi-tasking ability with competing timelines and deliverables.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and/or within a team in a collaborative environment.
Package:
  • Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 DOE.
