Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Emergency Department team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.
- Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the Emergency Department, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Quality Improvement: Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong relationships with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Professional Development: Support the professional development of team members, including training, education, and mentorship.
- Education: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or a health-related discipline.
- Experience: Proven significant recent emergency nursing experience in initiatives and project management.
- Certifications: Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required, Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS preferred, Canadian Association Nursing Emergency Nursing Certification preferred.
- Skills: Proven flexibility, initiative, independent judgment, and ability to be self-directed within scope of responsibility, Demonstrated strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multi-task, Proven effective interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and conflict management, Proven effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills, Proven capacity to quickly gain credibility through personal style and professionalism with proven capacity to nurture and mentor others.
